Mena Alexandra Suvari (born February 13 1979) is a famous American actress fashion designer and model. After a brief stint as a fashion model, she quickly transitioned to acting when she appeared as guest stars on TV shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. In 1997 she debuted as a film actress in Nowhere. The performances she made on the film American Beauty, for which she received the BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie attracted a lot of interest. In the following years, she starred as a co-star in Loser (2000) along with her American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and then played the principal role in the comedy film Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun and Trauma, a thriller movie from 2004 featured two of her performances. Her other appearances include HBO's series Six Feet Under. In 2008 she was cast in a series of movies including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the film adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari was model for Lancome Paris Adaptive model and Lancome Paris cosmetics print ad model has been featured on numerous fashion magazines and blogs, including Vogue. Suvari has been a long-time activist and supporter of the African Medical and Research Foundation. Additionally, she has been involved in issues of female empowerment and is involved with organizations whose mission is breast cancer and End Violence Against Women campaign.
